What we need
  • An Excel spreadsheet custom-built specifically for the Organization's finances
  • Training on how to use the spreadsheet to understand the current financial situation and predict future states (e.g., plan for budget increases or decreases, hiring, and other key drivers)
What we have in place
  • We currently have reconciled all of our 2018 statements, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have our 2019 budget and 2017 audit, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $14,474 , allowing us to bring 25 students 10 weeks of coding education.

NYOT is at a critical point in its growth where we need to be able to develop strong forecasts for the organization over 3-5 years. We're hoping this project will allow us to work with someone to development a template that will be used as a main source for forecasting and planning.

  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with current accounting needs and practices, chart of accounts or operating budget, and financial statements currently being generated (e.g,. statement of financial position, statement of activities, or statement of cash flows)
  • Optional: If you are concerned about the sensitive nature of your financial data, have a volunteer sign a non-disclosure agreement

  • Professional analyzes current accounting system, and recommends improvements to data gathering, reporting, or implementation of new bookkeeping software

Our mission

New York On Tech is on a mission to prepare the next generation of technology leaders emerging from New York City by creating pathways for students into degrees and careers in technology.

What we do

TECH360 Squad is a 10 week after-school program for 10th and 11th graders enrolled in New York City high schools. Students enrolled in the program learn the fundamentals of web design and development. Courses take place at companies in New York City and are taught by tech professionals.

The Tech Flex Leaders Program is an immersive out-of-school time program for juniors and seniors enrolled in a NYC high school. The program embeds weekly computer science and technology classes at local companies, offers mentorship with industry professionals and provides access to professional opportunities. Students selected are uniquely positioned to develop a portfolio of technology projects that illustrate a fundamental understanding of front and back-end web development.
