Project details

What we need
  • Consultation regarding the Organization's current branding and desired branding objectives
  • Visual branding guidelines / style guide that include specific colors, fonts, and other graphic design elements to use in print and digital communications materials
  • High-resolution logo delivered electronically (in formats for digital and print use)
Additional details

We are in the final stages of updating our organization's logo and website, but I run a program that has its own program logo, which I would like to update and/or align better with our organization's new image.

What we have in place
  • I have the new logo that we are going to present by the end of the month. I also have our current program logo that can be updated and/or changed completely to align with our new image.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,817 , allowing us to cover the full cost of our summer early literacy program for over 26 children.

Our organization is small and we don't have a large online presence or brand awareness. This project will help us bring our programs more in line with a new brand identity that we hope to use to become more well-known in both the community and to future donnors.

Project plan

P
Prep: Distribution of Prep Materials
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with current logo (if available), branding guidelines, and any existing marketing/communications materials
  • Volunteer Manager sends Professional examples of logos, brands, and design elements preferred, and links to website and social media pages
1
Milestone 1: Brainstorm
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager connect to discuss the branding goals, target audience, and preferred design elements
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager agree upon a style concept and the detailed scope of deliverables (e.g., logo, custom graphics, updated style guide, new style guide, etc.)
2
Milestone 2: Logo Design
  • Professional drafts up to three different logo designs and shares with the Volunteer Manager for feedback
  • Volunteer Manager selects one of the design options and provides feedback
  • Professional iterates upon the design for final delivery, including versions of the logo for different uses (e.g., black & white, full color, and formats for print and digital use)
  • Professional delivers the final version of the logo including specifications for usage (colors, size, etc.)
3
Milestone 3: Visual Branding Guidelines / Style Guide
  • Professional drafts the visual branding guidelines, which features the logo design and a specific set of colors, fonts, and any custom graphic elements to be incorporated in future communications
  • Volunteer Manager reviews the draft guidelines and provides feedback
  • Professional incorporates feedback and prepares the final version
  • If custom graphics are included in the agreed-upon scope of work, the Professional provides them in high-resolution formats for digital and print use

Our mission

Our mission is to advance educational equity in the Bay Area by delivering high-quality academic services to our youth and through our youth.

Our Mission Statement:

Aspire Education Project dedicates itself to the academic excellence of students in the San Francisco Bay Area through building relationships, encouraging academic engagement, and empowering those we teach to educate others.

What we do

1-on-1 Tutoring
Our dynamic corps of tutors work across the academic subject spectrum, securing academic success for the students they support. We are also trusted providers of Test Prep tutoring, and offer free proctored tests to all students. We distribute scholarships worth $30,000 each year to students who cannot afford market-rate tutoring.

Programs and Partnerships
We collaborate with schools and community organizations to provide educational support for the students who might otherwise slip through the cracks. Our programs support over 800 students with reduced-cost programs, classes and curricula each year.

Community Reading Buddies
Our flagship program has been connecting teen mentors with young readers in Oakland for 24 summers and counting. Its powerful youth-led model combats the enormous disparities in early literacy among the Bay Area's youngest residents.

Testimonials

Angela is a star to work with! She submitted ideas for a new program logo design in less than a week, and was able to come up with several different ideas despite not having a lot of direction from me. After we gave her initial feedback, she very quickly worked with what we told her and came up with several more ideas on color and style. The end product is a beautiful program logo that complements our overall organization branding while keeping the spirit of the specific program. Thank you, Angela!
