Market Analysis
Market Analysis
Project details
What we need
- A written analysis of the Organization's position in the community it serves and its ability to address identified needs/problems for its beneficiaries
- A summary of the Organization's strengths and weaknesses, related to its program goals as needed
- A summary of competitors or potential collaborators
- An appendix of all data gathered to perform analysis, including sources
Additional details
Market Analysis is needed for our social enterprise KIBEBE (Facebook.com/kibebemalawi) as we are embarking on selling our products online. Products are decor and accessories made by people living in and around Dzaleka refugee camp in Malawi.
We need help identifying a target market amongst the global consumer community, we need to know our competitors and what makes us different, we need help establishing KPIs, we need to know whether we should sell on Facebook SHOP or Shopify. Thanks!
What we have in place
- We currently have a detailed list of products and prices we intend to sell, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have experience with selling face to face in Malawi (5 yrs), and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $10,948 , allowing us to invest more into setting up the online shop "stock room".
We currently employ 38 artisans and 3 admin staff (I am a volunteer). If we can sell more online, we can give work more artisans and we can more easily meet the costs of our staff salaries.
Our artisans are from the refugee camp and surrounding villages. Refugees are not legally allowed to live or work outside the camp, so we bridge that gap.
Project plan
Our mission
We are an eco-inclusive brand that designs and hand-crafts products through ethical practices to provide dignified employment to marginalized communities.
What we do
We believe in the power of social enterprise to eradicate poverty, and we focus on the economic inclusion of the forcibly displaced, and of people supporting a disabled family member in under-resourced rural environments.
We train our artisans in the handcrafting of highly curated, branded accessories, gifts, and decor for the middle- to the upper-income market segment, which we sell in Malawi and overseas.
