Additional details
As a modest-sized but lively non-profit social enterprise, the way we showcase our work to the outside world (particularly the world outside of our country of operations, Kenya) is of huge importance. Our annual report is one of the main ways we can brag about what we do, show off our impact, publicly thank volunteers, board members, and the team, and solicit ongoing funding. This is typically a 12-16 page report (print and web), which we write, and then come up with some ideas for visuals.
What we have in place
- We currently have precious annual reports, a slide deck and a website, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have (or will have)the full text and ideas for the layout, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,632 , allowing us to Train 50 youth and women in clean energy distribution.
Non-profits depend on their ability to tell their story in a convincing, professional way in order to reflect their impact and to bring on board new funders and partners. We're no different! That's what this annual report does for us. We'd also love to be able to use some of the visual elements in our future communication materials (one-pager, slide deck, etc) so adaptability would be a plus!
Project plan
Our mission
Our mission is to create livelihoods for youth in urban slums in Kenya. Our vision is a world in which youth can work their way out of poverty.
What we do
After interviewing 278 young people in Nairobi slums, we learned they were all selling whatever they could in order to survive. We leverage those existing skills to employ youth at what they are good at – sales. We create livelihoods by recruiting young people into a training and employment program where they learn valuable business and professional skills and earn an income selling life-changing products in their communities. This work gives youth living in poverty the chance to develop skills, build confidence and earn a dignified livelihood.
Testimonials
Catherine was a joy to work with, both because of her eye for detail, graphic creativity, and absolutely seamless understanding and super quick turnover! Every exchange we had was productive, she was extremely efficient and listened so perfectly to our wants and desires for our annual report. We're so stoked with the final product and can't recommend Catherine highly enough. Just a delightful human being as well as a great graphic designer. This is exactly what Catchafire is for!
It was such a privilege to work with Claire on LivelyHoods' annual report! From our very first communication, I knew I would enjoy working with her -- she was able to articulate exactly what was needed, provided content quickly, and answered all of my questions. Even though we were half a world apart, Claire was always super-fast in replying to my messages and draft designs, which was critical for keeping the momentum going with this project. I also appreciated her clear guidance and quick decisions, balanced with the fact that she welcomed and trusted my suggestions. It was exciting to learn about all of the good that LivelyHoods does in Kenya, and it was an honor to be a small part of the organization's efforts. Without a doubt, Claire is one of the warmest, most genuine people I've worked with recently, and I truly looking forward to partnering with her and the LivelyHoods team in the future. Many thanks, Claire! :)
