Website Audit
Website Audit
Project details
What we need
- Feedback on the current website’s layout, user functionality, mobile-friendliness, visual design, content, and other key features
- Clear articulation of the Organization’s goals for the website
- Recommendations for improvements to help achieve the Organization’s desired goals
- Note: If you are looking for a more specific, in-depth audit of your website's design and usability, try our Website Usability Audit project
Additional details
Deliverables:
1. Audit the current website for effectiveness in reaching four key audiences: potential donors, potential volunteers, grant makers, and average visitors.
2. As of now MTC does not analyze traffic or do anything useful with the information but we would like pointers on understanding and tracking website traffic and effectiveness.
3. During the next year we would like to update the website by freshening the look and make it interesting and impactful: updating missing or incorrect information, adding stories, photos and video and possibly adding a volunteer portal (to access training)
What we have in place
- We have had a logo, colors etc. developed by a professional (hopefully this is echoed on our website), and a Facebook page.
As a local organization, have press contacts with local newspapers like Mountain View Voice and Los Altos Town Crier.
We are eager to get this project underway to prepare for a website redesign, followed by a stronger social media presence. To this end we are happy to provide any information, feedback and resources needed to complete this.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,762 , allowing us to use the amount saved to provide free tutoring to 15-20 or free mentoring for 5-6 vulnerable/underachieving students for a year. And we will reach more volunteers and donors.
We are aiming to increase name recognition and also reach a younger demographic while retaining our older volunteer and donor base. A great website is critical to communicate what we do and who we serve. Contrary to opinions that this area is wealthy/ people can afford to buy services / schools don't need help, there is great need in this community.
Our tutors and mentors are ALL volunteers and so we're constantly recruiting. We also want to communicate more with current and future donors. We've had a branding exercise, but now need a great website.
Project plan
Our mission
To enhance the academic, social, and emotional growth of students in our community through meaningful connections with adult volunteer mentors and tutors.
We do this by:
-recruiting, training, and supporting local volunteers to support students.
-working in coordination and partnership with school districts.
What we do
MTC's programs are designed to help students in our community maximize their potential and shape a brighter future. We recruit, train and support qualified tutors and mentors to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students in Mountain View and Los Altos public schools.
This year, MTC will match students in local elementary and middle schools with volunteer tutors, enhancing the learning environment for both students and their teachers. In our high school mentoring program, we match students with specially trained mentors who listen without judgement, guide with compassion, and encourage wholeheartedly. Our mentored students feel supported and empowered, and last year, 100% of them proudly graduated from high school.
