Board Assessment
Board Assessment
Project details
What we need
- 1-2 page summary of takeaways and trends from interviewing key individuals (no more than 8 interviews total)
- Identification of the board’s strengths and recommendations for areas of improvement for board members collectively and individually
What we have in place
- We currently have written board polices, committee descriptions and board bios, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a short board survey that was completed earlier in 2018, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,773 , allowing us to use those funds for a grant writer, purchase donor searching software and kickstarting our capital campaign to expand.
Members of our organization recently completed a week at the AMEX Leadership Academy with the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and the project that we worked on while there was how our organization was going to grow. One of the key components to our growth plan is conducting a SWOT analysis for the board, to ensure we have the right board members who are active, engaged and supportive of our mission and work. We want to get assistance with an overview of our board, board policies and practices before we begin the work of creating a strategic plan for growth.

Our mission
THE ONE LESS FOUNDATION works to help families and communities create paths out of poverty through a two-generation approach.
What we do
We are dedicated to alleviating poverty by providing financial literacy and capability, supplemental education, and personal mentoring to individuals, families and communities to help them gain the skills needed to create a path out of poverty.
Our organization bridges the gap between academic theory and real life, by providing programs and access to education, resources and opportunity.
Testimonials
William was great to work with and helped us to take an honest assessment of our board members and to take actions to begin working toward creating a board that better fits the needs of the organization - which we had been hesitant to do, yet was needed. Working with William was the push we needed to make change to get the board going in the direction.
