What We Have In Place
  • We currently have marketing material for our program in Kenya, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have language around the program we will be launching in Bangalore, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How This Will Help

Somo partners with entrepreneurs from low-income communities to build self-sustaining, high-impact businesses, providing them with the training, mentorship, capital and market access they need to succeed. We are based in Nairobi, Kenya but now are moving to Bangalore, India. In order to advertise our program to potential partners there we need to create a 1 pager showing who we are, what we do and the demographics we are targeting with our program.

About The Org

Our Mission

Somo’s mission is to identify, train, fund and mentor entrepreneurs looking to drive social change by building enterprises in their own low-income urban communities.

What We Do

The Somo Project was started to invest in social entrepreneurs committed to changing their own under-resourced communities, and to provide the necessary training and tools they need to succeed. In Swahili, somo means “to learn lessons.” We called the organization the Somo Project because we believe that talented and visionary entrepreneurs exist, specifically in areas of high-poverty — but their lessons and learnings are overlooked in development initiatives. We identify people with intimate knowledge of their communities and the relevant social context to address problems such as sanitation, nutrition, job training, and education. Somo partners with people to find their own solutions rather than dictating what their communities need.

Testimonials

Alexander was great to work with! Super timely about getting material back and came up with a great design! Would recommend him to anyone who needs a brochure or one-pager done.
