What we need
  • A compelling narrative, or set of stories
  • Persuasive copy that can be used in appeals to donors, annual reports, grant applications, and media relations
  • Popular examples: Organization's founding story, a program achievement or milestone, a look back at the past few years, organizational backgrounder, etc.
  • Note: This project is not intended to support your general content planning or marketing but there are several projects in our Marketing & Communications category which are a good fit!
What we have in place
  • We currently have connections to many individuals with stories to tell, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have access to student writing for further stories, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to send 37 more students through the Win/Win program.

The success of our organization depends on spreading the word about the great things we are doing. Without your help, we cannot tell the stories that need to be told. Your skills will empower us to show the story behind the program.

Prep: Information Gathering
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional discuss the objectives of project and key audiences
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with relevant background materials (e.g., annual reports, white papers, brochures, organizational history)

Milestone 1: Storytelling Framework
  • Professional presents and discusses primary story angle(s) to the Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer Manager facilitates interviews between Professional and individuals willing to share their story (if applicable)

  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with up to two rounds of feedback

Our mission

At the Save a Mind Foundation we believe with the right combination of motivation and support all students can transform an opportunity into success. The Foundation has a primary goal: equip children in grades 6-8 with the tools, confidence and skills to succeed in high school and beyond. By developing practical, motivational tools for under serviced public schools we reaffirm the importance of attendance, participation and education.

What we do

SAM works to improve academic achievement and motivation in middle school students to increase the high school graduation rate in under serviced public schools. We provide, at no cost to the school, tools created by the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
