Board Recruitment Strategy
Board Recruitment Strategy
Project details
What we need
- Assessment of specific Organizational needs mapped to specific board roles
- Outline of ideal board structure and opportunities for new roles
- Candidate evaluation guide for prospective board members
- Marketing tools and guidance on how to execute recruitment
- Note: This project does not include actual board recruitment on the part of the Professional
What we have in place
- We have the resources of Vizion Group, a marketing and PR agency based in Berwyn, PA, and its team of operatives who plan and execute National Dog Show Month in Philadelphia events. The Kennel Club of Philadelphia membership includes volunteers from the Philadelphia region, who organize the annual National Dog Show, which dates back to 1879. The National Dog Show and the Kennel Club of Philadelphia work closely with media partners NBC Philadelphia, the Beasley Broadcasting Group of Delaware Valley Radio Stations, MetroKids magazine, and WEEU radio in Reading, PA.
How this will help
This project will save us $11,395 , allowing us to eliminate various fees and expenses associated with operating the event. That will enable us to make larger donations to Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House and Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation.
We are looking to build a committee of philanthropic-minded individuals--who might or might not be dog lovers :)--to assist in organizing the 2018 National Dog Show Gala. We have struggled to identify willing parties to invest the time. Our thinking is that board recruitment tactics and strategies via Catchafire might be an answer. The National Dog Show Gala takes place the night before the annual Kennel Club of Philadelphia Dog Show, November 17-18, just outside Philadelphia. It raises money for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House and the Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation and takes place at Valley Forge Casino.

Our mission
The Kennel Club of Philadelphia promotes the sport of purebred dogs, advocates for the purebred dog as a family companion and supports the advancement of canine health, both in the Philadelphia region and around the country. The Kennel Club also promotes this mission in conjunction with its role in hosting The National Dog Show Presented by Purina and televised by NBC annually on Thanksgiving Day.
