Additional details
Important lessons and best practices for changing the main website domain of the organization.
What we have in place
- We currently have a new domain and web development director, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a lead content person, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,098 , allowing us to maximize the engagement of volunteers and have a bigger impact on fighting cancer.
We will be transitioning our website domain from acscan-org to fightcancer-org. This will allow us to improve organizational marketing and engagement of the public in our cancer-fighting work. It's critical we make this transition without making common mistakes and losing any ground in our SEO work. We are also working to improve the quality and quantity of our website content to drive engagement, improve SEO, and at the end of the day pass more laws that help eliminate suffering and death from cancer We would benefit from an expert reviewing current practices and making recommendations for improvement.

Our mission
The work of the Cancer Control department focuses on applying known interventions such as reducing tobacco use and increasing screening rates to save lives, as well as improving the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. The organizing principle of the Cancer Control program is directed at achieving health equity by creating healthier communities, helping to shape a more effective health care delivery system, and empowering people to live a cancer-free life, or their best life with cancer.
What we do
The American Cancer Society was created more than 100 years ago for one purpose – to liberate the world from the threat of cancer. We are advocates, researchers, volunteers, caregivers, survivors, patients, and donors. Together, we are a united force against all cancers. We are an organization of 2.5 million strong. From prevention to diagnosis, from treatment to recovery, we’re here every step of the way. Our vision is a world free from the pain and suffering of cancer. Our purpose is to achieve it.
Testimonials

Seventh Scout was humbled to work with American Cancer Society Office of Chief Cancer Control. We know how vital digital content can be to all brands, particular those dedicated to addressing all aspects of fighting cancer, and how the work from the Cancer Action Network impacts the lives of people across the globe. We enjoyed the challenge of optimizing the vast array of content while ensuring that their digital audiences continued to grow and by leveraging best practices, helped the organization transition to a new domain - fightcancer.org - to continue their important work.
