Board Policies & Procedures
Board Policies & Procedures
Project details
What we need
- Review of current board policies and procedures
- Documents that establish strong governance practices
- New or revised policies that clearly define the role of the board and its relationship to the Organization
What we have in place
- We currently have 12 members on the board, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a board obligations letter, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,610 , allowing us to Convene a regional training meeting for chapter coleaders and members (for instance in Chicago, metro DC or metro NYC).
We have grown 250% in just a few years. We are a different org today than a few years ago, yet our board has not changed with these needs. We do not have any philanthropists and/or well connected members and very few board members help with development. While we have a few members who are actively involved, most are not. We do not have a governance document and we lack roles and responsibilites.
Project plan
Our mission
The mission of the Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom is to build trust, respect, and relationships between North American Muslim and Jewish women. Together, the women commit to limit acts of anti-Jewish and anti-Muslim sentiment, stand up to hate against one another, and engage in social action work.
What we do
The Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom provides the structure and resources for Muslim and Jewish women to develop relationships. There are three areas of focus: 1) the establishment of chapters throughout North America; 2) an annual conference and 3) an annual building bridges trip to a location of significant interest to both faith groups
