Project details
What we need
- Review of up to 20 pages of copy for grammar, style, tone, and consistency
- Advice on how to write effective copy going forward
Additional details
The purpose of this project is to copy-edit a literature review that probed the question: what is driving environmental justice action? The impact of arts and culture. This is a 40 pages long document that would ideally also be shortened. We are now looking into the possibilities of publishing the literature review and would like to have a fresh eye on the research as well as checking for the grammar, style, tone and consistency.
What we have in place
- You will be working closely with me, Rosalie, researcher in residence at the Human Impacts Institute, which conducted the research. I will be available for questions, calls and meetings.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,792 , allowing us to to concentrate on the other parts of the research project, such as piloting the research results!
This project is important as we want to be able to get the research out there, in open source. We believe that better understanding what is driving environmental justice action is crucial in creating a mass movement for climate justice!
Project plan

We are a creative, action-oriented community of arts, policy, science, communications, and business experts committed to creating and sharing innovative approaches to tackling social and environmental challenges.
What we do
The Human Impacts Institute was founded in 2011 and over the course of the past seven years, HII has provided over 1,200 hours of environmental educational programming across several core themes. The themes include stewardship-based initiatives such as Tree Care, environmental justice public resources such as the Impact Hours series, and climate communication programs such as the Creative Climate Awards, a competition bringing climate-inspired art to NYC audiences and beyond. HII's framework focuses on using arts and creativity as a tool for strengthening traditional environmental action methods. HII has developed environmental programs on a variety of topics for diverse audiences. Programs include youth environmental leadership intensives, community environmental workshops, local estuary and tree care stewardship opportunities for all ages, and more. These programs strive to integrate creative projects such as film and video, graphic design, tree guard building, and more.
We know there's a gap between knowing, understanding, and taking action. By building diverse communities and connecting you to solutions in beautiful and engaging ways, we inspire you to take action by making issues personal and practical to your life.
