Project details

What we need
  • An edited 1-3 minute video delivered in electronic format as agreed upon between the Professional and Organization, with HD quality as a master version, along with any agreed upon formats for final usage
What we have in place
  • On 5/18, we host our annual Horse Show, a day of celebration at Halleck Creek Ranch. We are looking for someone to create a documentary of the day, people arriving, horses being groomed by volunteers, mounting excitement as attendees arrive and then the show itself. We have video of previous horse shows on our YouTube channel but this year I would like more of a documentary style. You will have access to shoot video from 8am to 3pm and then 2 weeks for editing with large freedom.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,422 , allowing us to support more work!

At Halleck Creek Ranch, we have been offering therapeutic riding and other equine assisted services to people with disabilities since 1977. These videos help us raise funds to continue this important work.

Development and Communications

Our mission

Through the beneficial activity of therapeutic horseback riding, our participants learn new skills and expand their self-perception, enjoying a sense of freedom from their disabilities. We believe the families benefit from the relaxed atmosphere of the ranch and a valuable chance to network with other families and caregivers. We are committed to providing our program at low or no cost to our participants, so that the therapeutic benefits available through connections with people, animals, and nature are never denied a single individual in need.

What we do

Since 1977, Halleck Creek Ranch has helped people with disabilities live a life without barriers through Equine-Assisted Activities (EAA) and therapeutic horseback riding. Equine-assisted activities and therapeutic horseback riding are valuable forms of physical and mental therapy, as well as an effective way for people with disabilities to access rugged terrain.

Each week, participants and volunteers from seven Bay Area counties travel to the ranch, which is located in the beautiful Nicasio Valley in Marin County, CA. Ranch staff pair trained horses with dedicated volunteers, creating a dynamic team that carries our special riders into the beautiful Nicasio countryside. The program uses the powerful therapeutic benefits available through horses and nature to create a better quality of life for children and adults with disabilities, and for the people who care for them.

As one of the largest and oldest weekly therapeutic riding programs in the Bay Area, Halleck Creek Ranch is a pioneer in the field.
