What we need
  • Specific copy from one document (up to 1000 words) translated from one language to one other of the Organization's choice
  • Note: If you need more than 1000 words translated or copy translated into more than one language, please post additional versions of this project
Language proficiency requirements

English and Somali proficiency is required. You will not be able to apply if you do not meet this requirement. Learn more about language proficiency requirements.

Additional details

We are looking to have one document translated to Somali. The document is a one-page letter describing the lessons that we teach in the spring time and is sent home to families of school age children.

What we have in place
  • We currently have the letter written in English, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have staff members able to answer questions, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,098 , allowing us to have more funds available for teaching supplies and materials for children to use.

We teach students from many cultural backgrounds in 35-40 different schools each school year. Part of our work is outreach to families. We currently have all of our documents translated to Spanish, but there are a number of school where Somali is the second most common home language after English. We know that in order to reach all families, we need our documents written in their home languages.
