What we'd like to talk about
I'd like help understanding what is required to secure exemption from paying sales taxes in the different states where we are operating.
Additional context
We are making donation-funded purchases of essential items for low-income and homeless students and families being served by schools and nonprofits across ~25 states. Is there a way to make these purchases without having to pay sales taxes? (Most of our sourcing is through Amazon.) Are sales taxes driven by where the purchaser/donor is located or where the items are being shipped? We'd love some tax advisory assistance!
