What we need
  • A compilation of research on a specific topic (e.g. industry best practices, literature review, media contacts, industry trends, etc.) including a list of sources
  • Recommendations on areas for further exploration/research
  • Note: This project is not designed to be used for prospect or grant research
Additional details

Research all 2024 Colorado agriculture bills.
Create a spreadsheet with columns for bill number, a short summary understandable to farmers, and a link to the full text of each bill.
Add a column labeled "Support" with options: Yes, No, or Monitor.
Populate the spreadsheet with information for each bill, including summaries that farmers can easily comprehend.
Review and ensure accuracy before finalizing the spreadsheet.
This task will help farmers stay informed about relevant legislation.

What we have in place
  • We currently have link to site to research: https://leg.colorado.gov/bill-sear, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have coordinator to help if you have questions., and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,239 , allowing us to be more efficient while farmers are starting their growing season with limited capacity to do this work.

This task will help Colorado gardeners and farmers stay informed about relevant legislation and enable them to make informed decisions about supporting or opposing bills affecting their industry.

Our mission

According to the National Resources Defense Council, 40% of the food supply in the U.S. is wasted, which works out to more than 20 pounds of food per person per month, (NRDC, 2017). To combat this adversity, Kaizen Food Rescue aims Kaizen Food Share aims to prevent food waste and improve food justice and health equity in communities facing food apartheid.

What we do

Kaizen Food Rescue combats food waste by collecting surplus edible food from food banks, businesses, and farms, redirecting it to communities facing food insecurity. We also support local farmers through grant-funded purchases. Through partnerships and community efforts, we distribute this food to our culturally responsive mobile food pantries, schools, and under-resourced communities. Additionally, we offer nutrition and garden education, advocacy, and development workshops to promote sustainable practices. To date, we've shared over 14 million pounds of food with hundreds of thousands of people across 100+ zip codes.
