* Hello! I'm looking for support on translating a document in English into the listed languages: Nepali, Burmese, Dari, Pashto, French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda. Separate projects will be submitted for each language, but if you are proficient in multiple languages, I'd love to work with you. This document is the contract for our Community Farmer Program which supports Refugees recently come to the US through food access, organic farming education, supplemental income, empowerment and community.
What we have in place
- We currently have a PDF of the document in English, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a description of our target audience, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,098 , allowing us to reallocate translation/interpretation funding into in person education activities which further enriches the farmer's experience while in the program.
This project is important because it provides an outline of policies and responsibilities to individuals being onboarded into the Community Farmer Program in their native language. This makes the program, policies and responsibilities more accessible to understand and sets the stage for how to achieve success in completing the program.

What we do
Multicultural Refugee Coalition is an innovative nonprofit organization employing refugees in fair-wage, dignified work through two social enterprises: a sewing studio and an organic farm.
The Open Arms Studio employs a diverse group of refugees and immigrants to produce high-quality goods for private designers and retailers seeking to make ethical products. Representing home countries of Afghanistan, Burma, Eritrea, Democratic Republic of Congo and Mexico, Open Arms seamstresses produce small batches of products and year-round projects for partners such as Project Repat, Newton Supply Company, and Trek Light.
New Leaf Agriculture connects refugees to employment at a 20-acre commercial farm in Elgin, Texas. Refugee farmers from Bhutan and Democratic Republic of Congo grow for local farmers' markets, restaurants and families part of the weekly Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. New Leaf also connects 20 refugee families to community garden plots and resources to produce fresh, healthy produce to feed their families. We are proud to practice regenerative farming techniques in combination with those familiar to our farmers' country of origin.
