What we need
  • 1-2 page press release that can be distributed to news outlets
Additional details

Our new non-profit organization will be launched at the beginning of September and we need someone to write up a press release for us. We'll need someone to do on-going PR maybe 1 or 2 a month to get some press. We are also looking for someone that can help us get in front of some newspapers or editorials and can write an OpEd article about Fostering Promise.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a website set up that should be able to provide you with some info you need about the organization. Our Founder and CEO also has a linkedin page (Andre Chapman) that could possibly provide some insight on who he is and the work he has done. We would be happy to provide any other information you feel you may need to proceed with this project.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,348 , allowing us to allocate these funds towards expanding our outreach efforts and strengthening our programs. With these cost savings, we can enhance our advocacy campaigns, raise awareness and so much more.

We are dedicated to empowering youth through policy change and providing support for those aging out of foster care, voluntary contributions play a crucial role in advancing our mission. Specifically, individuals offering their time and expertise to assist with tasks like drafting press releases. By collaborating with volunteers on press releases, we can effectively communicate our initiatives, successes, and the urgent need for youth-driven policies to a broader audience.

Our mission

Fostering Promise is a Black-led, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2023. We are committed to advocating for youth-driven policies that ensure every young person who ages out of foster care has a safe place to call home, the hope for a promising future, and the support of a caring mentor.

We aim to eradicate homelessness among former foster youth by working collaboratively with foster youth, stakeholders, and local and state government officials. Our advocacy initiatives aim to champion policies and programs that empower these emerging adults to transition successfully into adulthood, while also addressing the underlying systemic issues that contribute to their homelessness.
