What we'd like to talk about
I'd like advice on handling the limited compensation allowed for employees receiving SSA, while not excluding them from annual pay increases.
Additional context
PT employees who receive SSA are eligible for annual pay increases. Sometimes, this incremental increase would make their monthly compensation above the allowable compensation for SSA. These employees have historically not accepted the pay increase and kept their same hourly schedule. One employee is now asking to adjust their hours in order to accept the pay increase. While the requested schedule adjustment is minimal (30 minutes less every other week), we don't want to set this precedent, especially because other employees in this situation haven't been given that option. What's the best way to move forward providing consistency for employees while not unintentionally discriminating, and ensuring business operations are unaffected?
