Suggestions regarding how to achieve long term sustainable growth in achieving strategic aims

What we have in place
  • We currently have a full time Oxford University Intern focused on strategy, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a 5 year out of date strategy report written 2013 and the total commitment of the Founder, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $12,550 , allowing us to provide tutoring and support for an additional 210 able and ambitious students, providing a spring board for social mobility and changing lives.

Project Rousseau has reached a critical junction in its development. We are hugely successful in achieving our mission, helping support and nurture students from some of the roughest and most deprived backgrounds to succeed. This can be seen by our students stories, with recently 7 students being accepted to Ivy League institutions. Since our beginning we have focused on students. As such we have neglected our organisational and strategic planning and as such are not efficient at achieving our mission. To grow we need to correct these areas of weakness to maximise our work and therefore maximise students potential success.

Our mission

Our mission is to provide talented, underprivileged high school students with the opportunity to reach their full potential. We recognize that this requires a holistic approach, and we therefore provide comprehensive tutoring and mentoring to the students throughout their entire high school career. Students are matched one-to-one to a mentor for their entire high school career. We hope to be the tutors, friends, and role models that our students need to flourish.

What we do

Project Rousseau matches college students one-to-one with high school students who are in the same stages of their respective educations (9th graders with college freshmen, 10th graders with college sophomores, etc), so that each of our mentees has one mentor for his or her entire high school career. The goal of the program is to maximize high school students’ potential to thrive in a college environment; we strive to give every mentee the opportunity of a college education.

This is a very exciting time for Project Rousseau, and we are looking forward to our new initiatives. In July, we will be bringing a group of mentees to Washington D.C., a wonderful opportunity for them to learn and be exposed to our government and our history. This December, a group of Project Rousseau volunteers will be conducting French seminars in Haiti. With many new chapters opening up across the country and around the world, we look forward both to supporting our new mentees and the Project Rousseau Exchange Program, which will be launched in the summer of 2012.
