Project details

What we need
  • A written summary of the Organization's marketing goals and target audiences
  • A list of key marketing channels that will yield the highest return on investment, with rationale
  • Specific tactics the Organization can use to leverage the identified marketing channels
  • Messaging guidelines for the channels identified, including specific key messages (if needed)
  • A summary of the key metrics for evaluating marketing effectiveness, and guidance on how to track metrics over time
What we have in place
  • We currently have a database of 7,000 past donors and a social media presence, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have partnerships with several other organizations, marketing materials a website,, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $11,198 , allowing us to put that money toward research for the 57 million Americans who are living with disability.

The Foundation for PM&R is committed to research that will provide an evidence base for the best treatments to help individuals with disability regain health, function and independence. We are working with the AAPM&R on clinical practice guidelines, performance measures and a patient registry to gather comparative effectiveness and outcomes data to be used to improve medical care for individuals with disability. However, we need to communicate how important these efforts are to improving the quality of lives of individuals with disability, so that we can raise the additional funding needed to make these ambitious large-scale efforts a reality.

Our mission

Dedicated to restoring health, improving function, minimizing pain and enhancing quality of life for individuals with disability through research and education in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

What we do

Nearly 1 in 5 Americans is living with disability, and 9 out of 10 will experience some form of temporary or permanent disability in their lifetime. With $3.0 million in assets, the Foundation is the largest private group dedicated solely to supporting research in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, to improve quality of life for individuals with disability. Approximately 75% of the Foundation’s annual income is contributed by individual donors. The cornerstone and primary focus of all Foundation for PM&R efforts is our very successful RESEARCH AWARDS AND GRANTS program. We have provided $1 million in seed grants to over 40 young investigators; the results from greater than 80% of these pilot studies have been presented at educational meetings and more than half were published in peer-reviewed journals. Two-thirds of Foundation-funded projects have been used to obtain funding for larger investigations. However, more research is required to provide outcomes and comparative effectiveness data on the treatment options for individuals with disability.
