Project details
What we need
In September, DISH celebrates 8 years of ending homelessness! We need design that reflects the culture of DISH and tone of event: fun, celebratory, casual; with deep commitment to social justice & the 450 tenants we serve. We need:
- Main event graphic (for print and online); final design files for printed materials (invitations, event program, etc.); email wrapper; online ad-banner;
- Accurate, print-ready specifications
- Event is in September. We'd love materials in place in May or June.
What we have in place
- We currently have an event consultant & staff experienced with our event, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have past event materials, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,422 , allowing us to extend by 3 months our tenant community building yoga, education & arts programs.
We're ramping up our efforts for our kick-ass 8th year anniversary bash. DISH believes everyone deserves a home and we want to share the joy and fun that comes with ending homelessness through the materials for our big annual event. We want a look and feel that delights prospective attendees and revelers; communicating our fun, celebratory and casual culture.
Project plan
Our mission
Delivering Innovation in Supportive Housing believes that everyone deserves a home. Every day, we provide high-quality, permanent housing to San Franciscans who suffer from serious health issues—because with our help, they can get off the streets, rebuild their lives, and strengthen our communities.
What we do
Delivering Innovation in Supportive Housing (DISH) was started in September of 2006 by Directors Lauren Hall and Doug Gary to provide property management services for the Direct Access to Housing Program, a project of the San Francisco Department of Public Health. The guiding principle for DISH is to be a nimble organization dedicated to serving adults with complex health, mental health, and substance use issues in supportive housing. Our goal is to be a strong partner in the City’s effort to end homelessness in San Francisco. DISH assumed management of the Pacific Bay Inn and the Empress Hotel in October of 2006, and the Camelot, Le Nain, Star, and Windsor hotels in July of 2007. DISH provides housing for 450 tenants and has 60 employees. Harm reduction is central to DISH's mission and values. Harm reduction means meeting people where they are at – without expectation or judgment. Our job is to help people stay housed – not to put shame or judgment or our own expectations onto our tenants regarding their drug use, untreated illnesses or any other behaviors that some may see as harmful. We offer services and activities to those who would like to utilize them, to build community, improve health, and help our tenants get back on their feet. DISH has been successful, year after year, with 93% of our tenants expressing overall satisfaction with our services.
