Project details

What we need
  • Overhaul of the UI on the Organization's existing website, or UI design for a new website
  • Clear map of website’s structure with wireframes to accompany the layout; wireframes may include homepage, content navigation page and content presentation templates
  • Flowcharts or specifications for the interactive features of the website
What we have in place
  • We have a detailed list of everything we can think of that we need our new website to do for us. We also have rough sketches and concepts for a few key elements of our new site. What we do not have is a clear map of our website's structure that will guide our website rebuild in early 2016.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,586 , allowing us to support community advocates for safe walking and biking in 10 communities across Vermont.

Local Motion is preparing for a major transformation: from a local organization to one with statewide reach, and from a service-oriented organization to one focused on community organizing. Our website needs to transform with us. It is currently a largely static site, with too much information and not enough interaction. A fully rebuilt website is essential to our ability to help communities across Vermont make their streets and roads safe for everyone to walk and bike.

Our mission

Local Motion is a member-supported non-profit organization promoting people-powered transportation and recreation for healthy and sustainable Vermont communities.

What we do

We inspire you to make walking and biking part of your life. Whether your motivation is transportation or recreation, social connections, spending time with family or exploring where you live, our goal is to give you the opportunity to say yes.

How? By teaching bike skills to kids, and practical biking to adults.
Training law enforcement officers, and tracking who is obeying the laws of the road.
Making our streets inviting for all modes by assisting municipalities with plans and designs.
Engaging those who bike, and those who want to bike in advocating for change.
By creating the services we need, like valet bike parking, and getting everyone on a bike from our Trailside Bike Rental Center.
By inspiring everyone with a unique and unforgettable ride along the Island Line Causeway out into the middle of Lake Champlain, connecting to the Islands with a one-of-a-kind bike ferry.
