Mission

The mission of Our House is to provide healthy, stimulating, and inclusive environments for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through community residences, employment services, innovative day programs, social opportunities and related support services designed to help them achieve their full potential for living meaningful and productive lives.

What We Do

Our House, founded in 1980 in Summit, is a private, nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization that provides support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The story of Our House begins with Patricia Shillingburg, the mother of an adult child with disabilities who saw the gap in services and housing for individuals like her daughter, as well as those less fortunate. Today, Our House strives to provide opportunities in a supportive, safe environment that stresses "abilities, not disabilities."
Programs include: residential, day services, recreation, employment services, and support services.
