Mission

The Massanutten Regional Library is a highly visible center for culture, technology and knowledge resources, serving the wide-ranging needs of a diverse community. The MRL system provides the community with a courteous, well-trained staff and a comprehensive, balanced collection of materials, programs, and technology in a safe and welcoming environment.

What We Do

Walk into any of the Library’s seven branches, and you’ll see the little things that make Massanutten Regional Library a BIG part of the community.
Storytime – It takes so little to make a toddler laugh … or sing … or dance with joy. Throughout the MRL system, Storytime happens 18 times per week. Each Storytime introduces children to the joys of reading and stories, and connects them (and their parents) with other members of our community who share a life-long love of books.
Summer Reading Games – What began with a little question – “How to encourage kids to continue reading throughout their summer vacation” – has turned into a huge annual event. In 2014, over 7,800 children participated in this 10-week challenge. By making it fun to read all summer long, Summer Reading Games makes a big impact on the education of our area’s students.
eBooks and Online Databases – MRL doesn’t end when you walk out the doors of our branches. Through mrlib.org, you can access a wide range of databases covering topics from genealogy to language learning to full-texts of newspapers. And you can download ebooks, magazines and audiobooks all from your home computer.
After-school programs for kids...A friendly and knowledgeable staff…Free computer access…A smile and a greeting when you check out a book…Lectures by local historians and authors.
