Greener Partners’ mission is creating healthy communities through food, farms and education. Since 2008, Greener Partners has become a regional leader in sustainable agriculture and innovative education programs designed to strengthen public access to fresh local food, educate people of all ages about the origins of their food and empower individuals to make healthier choices.

What We Do

Greener Partners’ three farm hubs are the heart of our organization and are central to our mission of improving fresh healthy food access and education. Rather than owning our own land, we partner with mission-aligned organizations with underutilized land to develop and manage small but intensive growing sites. In addition to allowing Greener Partners to grow food for donation and programming, these hubs allow for rich programmatic partnerships benefitting the clients of our host organizations. At our Montgomery County farm hub in 2016, we grew over 10,000 pounds of food which was donated to individuals and organizations in need in Norristown. At our Guild House Farm in North Philadelphia, a half-acre production garden on the site of a low-income senior housing facility, we raised over 5,000 pounds of produce, donating most of the food to senior residents. At our new Deaver Wellness Farm at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, we grew over 4,000 pounds of produce which was donated to the hospital’s neediest patients. Our one-of-a-kind Farm Explorer™ mobile farm program also travels to schools and community organizations across the Philadelphia region and gives thousands of children and families the opportunity to connect with where food comes from each year even if they can’t visit a farm. Participants harvest, cook and taste the season’s freshest vegetables and see firsthand how easy, healthy and delicious fresh seasonal produce can be.
