The EnCorps STEM Teachers Program empowers science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) professionals to transform public education by teaching in high needs K-12 schools.

What We Do

According to California State University and the California Teachers Association, California's demand for new STEM teachers in the next decade is expected to be over 33,000; the current rate of teacher production in our state cannot come close to meeting the projected demand.

As an innovative solution, EnCorps recruits career changing and retiring STEM professionals from the private industry into our award-winning Teaching Fellowship; instead of retiring, STEM experts are "re-wired" to become effective teachers in the classroom and pass their knowledge to the next generation.

EnCorps has recruited, selected and supported 900+ STEM professionals making the transition to K-12 teaching and impacts 30,000 underserved students annually. EnCorps partners with public schools and charter management organizations to place STEM experts as guest teachers and full-time credentialed instructions in math, science and Career and Technical Education (CTE) subjects.

EnCorps has been recognized regionally and nationally for its work; we received the US2020 STEM Mentoring Award (2016), Annenberg Challenge for Innovation in Technology Award (2017), Silicon Valley Education Foundation STEM Innovation Award (2017), Carl and Roberta Deutsch Foundation HALO Award (2018), and was a Semifinalist for the Drucker Prize (2018).
