What did Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) need?

Abbe helped Center for Asian American Media (CAAM)

Why is this project important?

CAAM's tagline is "Stories to Light" and we illuminate untold stories that reflect all of our stories. We are a well-respected and trusted 34-year old independent media nonprofit that needs clear, concise and engaging communications that utilize our considerable media assets, build on our connections to community and media makers and helps us understand how to implement new technologies to articulate our core mission and impact.

This project will save us $5,422, allowing us to present the works of 20 first-time filmmakers at CAAMFest, our annual film festival.

I moved to LA from NY about a year ago, and currently work in the marketing/sales field at Live Nation creating strategy and marketing platforms for both niche, and Fortune 500 brands. This job requires me to channel into the minds of both the end consumer, and the company I'm working with, to find solutions that will help grow their business. Using music and the arts as a platform ignites a passion in consumers and helps connect them to brands on a much different level than a typical advertisement. Using emotion to connect the two often makes for a lasting connection.

I grew up outside of Boston, and have found my passion to lie in creative fields, and travel. Music and art is my outlet, and travel is my expensive outlet! I enjoy live music, skiing, traveling, scuba diving and eating ethnic food. I spent a summer in Dominica working with the kids to educate them, and help build up their village both physically and intellectually. I am truly passionate about helping to make this world a better place.

What did they have to say?

Abbe was great to work with. We appreciated the strategic thinking that she brought to our meetings, and went into the SWOT analysis and recommendations she created. This process has been so helpful for us. Her skills and enthusiasm has re-energized our thinking about a more expansive way to think about membership.
