What we need
  • A set of key metrics to regularly track
  • Spreadsheet tool to collect data on key metrics with accompanying tables and graphs for analysis
  • Training for best practices on data collection
  • Training on how to use the spreadsheet and analyze key metrics
  • Note: This project does not include data entry or analysis
Additional details

JerseySTEM is looking for volunteers interested in collecting the data & helping build an internal database of key information using Google Spreadsheets. The Data Collection team focuses on building up an internal database of key information [college student organizations information, STEM Teacher contacts, etc] to help facilitate JerseySTEM's programs.

Responsibilities
Attend half-hour weekly team meetings. (Monday 11:45AM - 12:15PM ET) Regular email /slack/Jira check
Min. 3 months recommended

  • We currently have a communication team in place, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have programs that need reporting on, and the ability to provide any other information you need.

  • Professional facilitates conversation with Volunteer Manager to determine what constitutes program success
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager agree on goals, timeline, and next steps for the project

  • Professional comes up with a set of key metrics to track
  • Professional outlines how to track each metric, including frequency of measurement and unit of measurement

JerseySTEM is a grassroots 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math ("STEM") education to 5th-8th grade girls in New Jersey underserved communities

We partner with socially responsible companies and their employees, youth organizations in underserved communities, and civic-minded college students and universities.

Together we develop and deliver innovative, hands-on, and online afterschool projects and inquiry-based learning opportunities that develop teamwork, 21st-century problem-solving skills, and self-esteem.
