Project details

What we need
  • Recommendation(s) on the most appropriate webinar software, depending on Organization's needs and budget
  • Training for up to 5 staff on how to set-up and use chosen software
  • Note: Some webinar software providers may provide free or heavily discounted plans for 501(c)(3) nonprofits
Additional details

We've become reasonably comfortable with Zoom, so that would be best.

What we have in place
  • We have used PowerPoint on Zoom for certain "webinars", but these were greatly informal. We'd like to incorporate something far more professional.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,145 , allowing us to purchase needed software and to possibly purchase audio/visual equipment for initiating an informative podcast.

We cover 12 counties in mid-Michigan and we provide resources on a wide range of disability-related topics including Medicaid and Medicare. This will serve as a way for us to present information timely, professionally, to a wider audience, especially in our rural counties of northern Michigan.

Our mission

Disability Network of Mid-Michigan's mission is to promote and encourage independence for all people with disabilities.

At Disability Network, we believe it is not a disability that prevents people from participating in our communities, it is the barriers the community places in front of them. Disability Network exists to support the determination of individuals with disabilities to lead dignified, independent lives, and to heighten community awareness of those physical and social barriers which restrict independence.

We believe in the Independent Living Philosophy which postulates that people with disabilities are the best experts on their own needs.

What we do

As a Center for Independent Living (CIL) we provide assistance to people with disabilities in five core service areas: Independent Living Skill Development, Peer Support & Mentoring, Nursing Facility Transitions, Information & Referral, and Advocacy at the individual and systems levels.

Our focus is providing the necessary and requested supports for individuals to obtain and maintain the level of independent living the person desires.
