What we need
  • 1-2 page press release that can be distributed to news outlets

Establish a template for press releases related to the announcements of new partnerships between JerseySTEM and sponsoring organizations

What we have in place
  • We currently have a few examples, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have partners available, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,348 , allowing us to provide instruction to 20 additional students

Being able to share news of sponsorships is a key element of JerseySTEM outbound communication strategy.

  • Volunteer Manager and Professional discuss initiative, partnership, or event that Organization wishes to publicizes
  • Volunteer Manager shares existing marketing materials, mission statement, and program descriptions for Professional to incorporate into press release

Milestone 1: Press Release Writing
  • Professional writes draft of press release and shares with Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer Manager gives feedback, which Professional incorporates
  • Professional delivers final version of press release
  • (Optional) Volunteer Manager incorporates Press Release into Press Kit

JerseySTEM is a grassroots 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math ("STEM") education to 5th-8th grade girls in New Jersey underserved communities

We partner with socially responsible companies and their employees, youth organizations in underserved communities, and civic-minded college students and universities.

Together we develop and deliver innovative, hands-on, and online afterschool projects and inquiry-based learning opportunities that develop teamwork, 21st-century problem-solving skills, and self-esteem.

What we do

Reduce the gender gap in STEM participation;

Bridge the innovation gap in STEM education by introducing novel formats for teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math;

Address the opportunity gap by expanding access to STEM programs in underserved communities.
