Board Prospecting
Board Prospecting
Project details
What we need
- Assessment of current donors, volunteers, beneficiaries and other constituents to pinpoint people who are interested in serving your Organization
- Informal staff and board interviews to survey potential connections and/or leads
- A document of up to ten pages that lists potential board members based upon your Organization's data and current audiences
- Note: The Professional will not be communicating with prospective board members.
What we have in place
- We currently have a draft of the roles we're looking for, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a business/strategic plan and bylaws, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,198 , allowing us to focus on our fundraising efforts (awards and scholarships) for the next generation of talented and well rounded artists.
We want to expand our Board of Directors, as we're only 3 including myself. We want to have a strategic plan in how to expand. Through this project, we want to prepare a program/presentation to pitch to potential interested board members and create materials to do so.
Project plan
Our mission
BLACK GIRLS WHO PAINT (BGWP) is an ecosystem with 2 goals in mind - (1) to show actual Black girls who paint that the arts is a viable career path and (2) to normalize Black women in the arts as a whole. In accomplishing both, a community of successful Black women artists has formed - one that Founder Sasha-Loriene always wanted to see as a young girl. BGWP is also a platform created by a Black woman who paints and believes in increasing the visibility and investment of Black women artists through sharing our art and our stories.
