What we need
- An easily understood visual aid that communicates complex information
- A high-resolution version of the Infographic in the Organization’s preferred format
Additional details
Need support to create 5-7 infographics for social media to raise understanding of restorative justice and juvenile justice reform. To help combat messages that are growing again in our community that some kids deserve to be thrown away. Help contribute to racial and social justice by raising public support for better solutions for youth who've made a mistake.
What we have in place
- We currently have compelling data to convey, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a dedicated new communications committee, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to raise the profile and public understanding of effective alternatives to youth prisons.
While community based organizations that support youth and families in need remain underfunded, our justice system agencies continue to grow their budgets despite horribly disparate outcomes for low income youth of color. Big reform progress was recently made. But now folks who support maintaining the carceral system are using recent news coverage of high profile crime to push misinformation to further increase budgets for the harmful justice system. We must infuse accurate into the discourse

Our mission
Centinela Youth Services strengthens families and communities and helps build successful students and productive adults, leveraging the principles of restorative justice to empower peaceful conflict resolution. We are committed to ending the institutionalized practices in schools and justice systems that are primarily responsible for maintaining the school-to-prison pipeline, and disproportionately impact youth of color.
