Project details

What we need
  • A new presentation, or update to an existing presentation in Powerpoint, Keynote, Google Slides, Prezi, or another presentation software
  • Best practices and tactics for structuring an effective presentation
Additional details

I currently have a Powerpoint presentation that revolves around Emergency Preparedness. It has three "training modules". Looking for someone to fine tune this presentation due to content. Audience is those with intellectual and physical disabilities.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a Powerpoint presentation, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have research materials, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to focus on outreach to the twelve counties we serve and have the opportunity to share the training with our consumer base.

Our Center for Independent Living in the State of Michigan have set a goal for ourselves to ensure we are providing all consumers in the state the opportunity to plan and prepare for natural disasters and emergencies. I work for the Disability Network of Mid-Michigan and we have completed our training however are now looking to use the same training format within the state. Would like to have Powerpoint reviewed and "overhauled" as seen by volunteer.

Community Connections Liaison

Our mission

Disability Network of Mid-Michigan's mission is to promote and encourage independence for all people with disabilities.

At Disability Network, we believe it is not a disability that prevents people from participating in our communities, it is the barriers the community places in front of them. Disability Network exists to support the determination of individuals with disabilities to lead dignified, independent lives, and to heighten community awareness of those physical and social barriers which restrict independence.

We believe in the Independent Living Philosophy which postulates that people with disabilities are the best experts on their own needs.

What we do

As a Center for Independent Living (CIL) we provide assistance to people with disabilities in five core service areas: Independent Living Skill Development, Peer Support & Mentoring, Nursing Facility Transitions, Information & Referral, and Advocacy at the individual and systems levels.

Our focus is providing the necessary and requested supports for individuals to obtain and maintain the level of independent living the person desires.
