Project details

What we need
  • Expert third party advice on process or managerial changes, geographic or programmatic expansion, potential pivots, or general strategic planning
  • Facilitation of an intensive, one-day strategic planning session with staff and/or Board
  • Note: If necessary, a follow-up strategic planning session may be scheduled
Additional details

We are piloting a project to create a space for dialogue between refugees of the Tucson, AZ area and the local police department. We hope to eventually include representatives from the school system and child protective services in this project. We are looking for support and training in how to organize and facilitate dialogue sessions and mediate conflict in a healthy way. Thank you.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a dedicated staff member working on this project, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a preliminary design and prospective participants, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,465 , allowing us to to increase our presence in the refugee community by helping us to fund new programming and activities for youth and adults alike.

Owl and Panther's main goal is healing trauma in the community through outreach activities. This project completely falls within the bounds of this goal, since it will allow for refugee parents to express their thoughts/feelings and work through trauma with those who may have caused trauma in the past and/or may unknowingly cause trauma in the future due to misunderstandings. In the past, O&P has primarily focused on refugee youth, this project will bring healing to refugee adults as well.

Our mission

To inspire and support refugees and society in embracing change, life and hope through healing-centered engagement in expressive arts, community outreach and collaboration.

What we do

Utilizing a dedicated volunteer force and leveraging the talents of visiting partners, we provide group sessions focused on expressing one's self through the arts. Our practice prioritizes the creative Process rather than the final Product while still meeting the targets and goals of the organization!

We have also been very fortunate to have amazing partners in our community that have allowed us to take part in larger events, special opportunities, and have provided talent and materials for us to expand our experiences!

Because you can't be part of the group if you can't get there, we also arrange transportation for participants in order to provide greater access to our programs.
