Project details

What we need
  • Setup of selected accounting software (e.g. Aplos, Araize)
  • Training and guidelines on how to manage system and generate basic reports
Additional details

We are currently using Quickbooks online. We need guidance in how to go about cleaning up our current entries and resulting reports. We also need assistance and advice in setting new standards and procedures for entries, as well as updating classifications and a creating new reporting procedures. You will be working in collaboration with a recent account grad who is on staff at the organization.

What we have in place
  • We currently have Quickbooks online, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have an engaged staff member with some accounting knowledge, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,409 , allowing us to bring more free art programming to Milwaukee communities!

It will make an incredible difference in the functioning of our organization if we are able to get our bookkeeping practices to the next level! We have the desire and interest to do so but we your need technical advisement and assistance in getting the initial set up done in a proper and much more efficient way. We aim to ensure that we are on-par with GAAP in all aspects.

  • Volunteer Manager shares detailed description of existing financial record keeping and financial reporting system
  • Professional makes recommendations on accounting system reports to address the Organization's needs
  • Note: If necessary, Volunteer Manager may have Volunteer sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to sharing and discussing Organization’s financial information

Milestone 1: Implementation
  • Professional conducts financial data migration
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager check accuracy of migration
  • Professional sets up account admin privileges for Organization’s designated admin users

Milestone 2: Training & Handover
  • Professional provides basic training for Volunteer Manager and supporting staff for tracking and reporting needs including guidelines for continued use of system
  • Professional reviews above guidelines and tips with Volunteer Manager
  • Professional is available for up to two weeks to address questions as Volunteer Manager starts to adopt new bookkeeping system

AWE's mission is to provide youth in Milwaukee with arts enrichment programs that advance learning, enhance human potential, and cultivate community.

What we do

Artists Working in Education, Inc. (AWE), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that sponsors professional artists to nurture the imaginations of Milwaukee youth by bringing creative visual arts experiences directly to schools, community centers and informal settings such as parks, playgrounds, libraries, and community events.

AWE artists guide children through the process of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. Meaningful arts programming helps youth develop new ways of seeing the world, enhanced inquisitiveness, creativity, flexibility, imagination, and confidence.
