Project details

What we need
  • Significant update to Organization’s existing CMS website, such as adding a new page, customizing a theme, adjusting layout, etc.
  • Smaller update to Organization's non-CMS website
Additional details

We're looking for an advanced WordPress developer (front and back end) to manage and lead the way with our theme switch while optimizing the website for goal conversions and SEO. Basically we need a website that's easy to update on the backend and user friendly on the front end. Please read our specific job description on https://betterbecausecollective.org/open-positions/website-manager/

What we have in place
  • We're a fully remote and volunteer-run organization, so our workflow is set up to integrate new volunteers with ease. We use Trello, Slack, and Zoom for internal team communications and assigning work. For the website, we already have a UX roadmap, branding guidelines, copy and illustrations. We just need you to build the new website using the content we already have. We also have a volunteer manager who would work closely with you and answer any questions you might have. So come join us!
How this will help
This project will save us $4,586 , allowing us to continue to run the organization on a shoestring budget of less than $500 per year.

Having a website that's easy to manage will allow us to work with and support junior developers who want to build up their portfolios. We're all about supporting people and giving new developers opportunities to build their portfolios. Having an easy to manage website would also allow us to focus on our mission versus our tech and not to have to worry about finding advanced developers when we need to do a major website update.
