Board Responsibilities & Structure

Project details

What we need
  • Document outlining relationship of board to your organization, including its role, responsibilities, and structure
  • Document defining the roles and responsibilities of individual board members, including empty seats if applicable
Additional details

We currently have 5 diverse board members. All are friends with me (the Founder/ED) and community-driven and focused, yet I would like to create more structure and defined roles that they aren't just my cheerleader standing on the sidelines.

What we have in place
  • We currently have monthly zoom meetings for updates, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have identified our board shared values, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,248 , allowing us to provide more community conversations

Creates more structure and allows me to be a better manager, leader, and effective communicator.

Founder & Community Collaborator

Our mission

We exist to empower and amplify the voices of the marginalized so that we may change the narrative and become a more just, equitable, and inclusive community.

What we do

We unite students, schools, businesses, nonprofits, and community groups by sharing our stories and voices, so we may understand, embrace, and empower each other to become a more integrated and inclusive community.

We build intercultural and intergenerational relationships in our city and virtually through the following services:

BRAVE-Makers and Ambassador programs are diverse groups of high school female-identifying students, who develop leadership skills and gain hands-on experience to effect change through a social justice and racial equity lens.

BRAVE Communities Conversations are monthly community conversations to connect concerned citizens with vital resources. We typically invite community champions and professionals to share their expert knowledge on various social and racial equity issues. Community members have the opportunity to listen, learn, discuss, and share their stories in small group facilitated circles.

BRAVE Fest is an annual Austin-wide community builder where we celebrate local artists, businesses, nonprofits, and community groups that are creating change in our city.
