What we need
  • A detailed Operating Budget covering at least one full fiscal year
  • Expert advice on how to reconcile actual expenses with budgeted expenses
Additional details

We need guidance on creating our operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year. We went through a restructuring of our administrative function where we outsourced our bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll. This will be my first time involved in the actual budget creation process. We also did a redo of our chart of accounts so we would also like to create a new budget format as well.

What we have in place
  • We currently have this fiscal year's budget, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have financial statements, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $9,114 , allowing us to use those resources for other projects.

In previous years, we were not able to have our operating budget completed in a timely manner. We would start a new fiscal year and not have our operating budget finalized until 2nd quarter. By having our budget completed and finalized sooner, we can plan better for the fiscal year. Also, having expert advice and having someone guide us through the process will help significantly in case we are missing or overlooking anything.

  • Volunteer Manager also provides any additional materials that will affect budgeting, such as a fundraising plan, earned income plan, or business plan

Milestone 1: Information Gathering & Outline
  • Professional does additional due diligence to address any questions or issues
  • Professional creates a detailed outline for the budget, to be shared with Volunteer Manager for feedback

Milestone 2: Budget Creation
  • Professional creates budget and shares it with the Volunteer Manager for feedback
  • Professional incorporates any feedback into the model for final draft version

Milestone 3: Explanation & Training
  • Professional delivers the budget, alongside a detailed written or verbal explanation of how the budget should be utilized and modified in the future
