Accounting Systems Review
Project details
What we need
- Analysis of accounting needs and assessment of Organization’s current accounting practices
- Recommendations for process improvements for enhanced reporting
- Recommendations on appropriate bookkeeping system such as a spreadsheet or Quickbooks and related costs (if necessary)
- Note: This does not include accounting systems set up or implementation
Additional details
We are a $2.7M/year organization and have not had an audit. Before we engage an auditor, we would like to do a systems review to ensure that we will be audit ready. We use Quick Books. We hope to begin this project in early September.
What we have in place
- We currently have a well set up accounting system in Quick Books, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a Finance and Operations Director to coordinate the project, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,564 , allowing us to do more outreach in the diverse communities of southern Arizona, developing programs and field trips that meet their needs and help to engage them in the delightful experience of birding.
We have grown by about 30% in the past 3 years, and expect to experience continued growth. It's certainly time to have an outside auditor review our financials and systems to provide recommendations for us and assurances for our funders. We want to be sure we are ready for that kind of investment and are likely to have a positive result.
