Tech Systems Review
Tech Systems Review
Project details
What we need
- An assessment of Organization's IT infrastructure including costs, speed, reliability and security
- Advice on various IT services and the cost-benefit associated with each option
- Potentially more efficient and secure services
- Note: This does not include tech systems set up or implementation
Additional details
My organization is looking for a platform that will help us manage our grants. Most platforms I have seen are for the application process, sending reminders for reports, etc. We are looking for customizable fields and reports that reflect detailed allocations according to sub-programs, spend down progress, grants received per purpose, as well as some of the standard things to show number of grants and amount of funding received in graph form.
What we have in place
- We currently have an Excel system for tracking some of this information., which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a list of desired features, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,741 , allowing us to dedicate the time and money saved towards the purchase of a platform. Saving time on record-keeping and reporting would help us dedicate more time to fundraising.
We currently have to create custom workarounds in Excel using complex formulas. Any reports generated must be created from scratch. We have not been successful in searching for a platform on our own.
Project plan
Our mission
DASH is an innovator in providing access to safe housing and services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families as they rebuild their lives on their own terms. We envision a culture where safe housing is a human right shared by everyone.
What we do
DASH is addressing the overwhelming lack of housing and social services for victims of domestic violence and their children in the District by providing safety and necessary resources.
Our short and long-term goals are:
To provide safe housing and voluntary support services that meet the needs of a broad cross-section of domestic violence survivors.
To help domestic violence survivors avoid homelessness as the primary option for living free from abuse; and,
To engage local and federal lawmakers, civic leaders, concerned community members, and domestic abuse survivors in the movement to make safe housing in the District of Columbia more accessible in the short-term, and ultimately, less necessary in the long-term.
Testimonials
Bizin and his colleague provided exactly the type of support we were looking for. They understood our organization's tech needs and were very attentive and responsive with the resources they shared. Their expertise with navigating the Salesforce platform gave us the tools we needed to investigate the system and clarify our data priorities. They went above and beyond with the time they spent on leading us through the different options and customizing a list of video and text trainings. Looking at tech systems can be overwhelming. It is always a pleasure to work with IT professionals who understand nonprofits and can speak clearly about more advanced concepts. Bizin met us where we are and focused on empowering us to make decisions that were right for our organization. I would absolutely recommend Bizin, Christopher, and their company, Herocubus, to any nonprofit looking for Salesforce or other IT support. My experience with them was definitely in the top tier of any relationship with a similar firm.
Kim Puchir at the District Alliance for Safe Housing was an absolute pleasure to work with for this Tech Systems Review. We met several times and took a look at what DASH needed for a possible migration to a new grant management system. It was a breeze to work with her and her colleagues and we hope to work closely with them again!
