- Note: If necessary, a follow-up strategic planning session may be scheduled
Additional details
Jewish Women of Words is an online platform for discussion and reflection about what it means to be a Jewish woman today. Contributions are welcome from new and experienced writers and the community comes from all backgrounds and demographics. We are particularly pleased to have given people opportunities for growth, action and reflection.
We started in 2016 and in 2021, need to re-examine our objectives and purpose. Should we continue trying to be all things to all people?
What we have in place
- There are 2 main editors of the website and a 3rd contributing member. It would be valuable for all of us to participate in a strategy session. As we're in Melbourne Australia it may be tricky to schedule a time convenient to all of us. We're pretty flexible so I hope we can make it work!
How this will help
This project will save us $3,310 , allowing us to continue our passion project! It is totally self-funded in terms of maintaining the website and associated insurance.
After 5 years we believe it's important to reset our objectives. We seem to be receiving material from a limited demographic that doesn't provoke much interest. In order to remain relevant are for our time to be utilised purposefully, our reach both in terms of contributors and readers needs to be broadened.

What we do
JWOW is an online publishing platform for reflection about what it means to be a Jewish woman in the increasingly complex world today. It is a community of emerging and established writers and a space for, by and about Jewish women. JWOW gives Jewish women a voice, a community and a platform.
NFP run by volunteers. Articles are published on the blog and via Facebook, and a regular newsletter is emailed to subscribers.
JWOW sometimes runs writing workshops in conjunction with the Jewish Museum of Australia, LaunchPad and Pathways for those who would like to meet face to face, learn from and support each other.
Testimonials
We had a really useful first call with Angela. She'd taken the time to look at our website and socials and understand who we were. We are now engaging Angela to clarify our mission and values to set ourselves up for future success.
It was a pleasure to help the organization find its own voice as they continue to support others.
