Project details
What we need
- A compilation of research on a specific topic (e.g. industry best practices, literature review, media contacts, industry trends, etc.) including a list of sources
- Recommendations on areas for further exploration/research
- Note: This project is not designed to be used for prospect or grant research
Additional details
The goals of this research project are to understand the value of blind review processes, the different types of blind review (i.e. single-blind, double-blind, etc.), best practices of when and how to carry out blind review processes, and what other funders use blind review for competitive funding proposals.
We would also like to understand advantages, disadvantages, and other considerations for blind reviews.
What we have in place
- We currently have A brief list of publications to inform the start of research, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have Remote access to our organization's research library, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $5,239 , allowing us to invest staff capacity in other grantmaking activities to improve health of people of the state.
Our organization is seeking to increase equity in our grantmaking practices and to understand whether blind review may be an approach to consider to reduce bias and increasing diversity in selecting projects for funding. This research project will help us better understand how and why we might use blinded reviews to further our equity goals and ensure more inclusive grantmaking practices.

Testimonials
Andrew completed a research project for us to explore how others approach an aspect of our work. He was eager and responsive and asked great questions to clarify the scope of the project. Andrew gave us a helpful overview of his findings along with some other areas to consider in the future. I'd recommend him as a volunteer for another research project!
