Additional details
Community Giving Tree will be opening up a new giving center in Lawrence, MA, this fall. This strategic location will enable CGT to reach more kids in need with clothing and baby equipment. We have one giving center in Boxford, MA at this time and our partners (social workers) have clients that are not located in this town. By opening up a giving center in Lawrence we will be more accessible to our partners clients and make it easier for them to distribute our resources more efficiently.
What we have in place
- We currently have prior press releases and information about our organization, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have our website & FB to help you familiarize with outmission, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $1,348 , allowing us to purchase more school supplies to distribute to kids in our upcoming annual back to school program .
This big strategic move for CGT will help reach more families in need. Since 2009 CGT has been operating a giving center in Boxford (an affluent town) Social workers have to go out of their way to get to Boxford to come get needed items for their clients who live in bigger cities and then distribute them.
Opening up a shop in Lawrence, a city that has a high number of vulnerable families, will allow us to help more families more efficiently.
Project plan
Our mission
Our mission is to help low income families in northeastern Massachusetts raise healthy children by providing recycled clothing, baby equipment, and other basic necessities.
What we do
Every year, thousands of children living in conditions of poverty receive basic essentials from Community Giving Tree. We provide safe sleeping spaces, much-needed diapers, and gently-used clothing. All of these items are distributed through our network of social service agency partners to those most in need in our community. We are grateful to hundreds of volunteers each year that help support our mission to collect gently used items and make them available for local families and children. Our goal is to provide no-cost essentials for families to help their children grow and thrive.
