Project details

What we need
  • Expert third party advice on process or managerial changes, geographic or programmatic expansion, potential pivots, or general strategic planning
  • Facilitation of an intensive, one-day strategic planning session with staff and/or Board
  • Note: If necessary, a follow-up strategic planning session may be scheduled
Additional details

Collective Success Network plans for a board retreat in person, in Philadelphia, on July 10th. We can devote up to 4 hours to a facilitated strategic discussion with the full board at the retreat, and can engage a smaller group to prepare for that discussion. We need to align and refine our vision/mission, logic mode and goals for the next year. We recently completed a fee for service strategy session through Catchafire and don't yet have full alignment with all Board members on that project.

What we have in place
  • We currently have current vision/mission/purpose statements and logic model, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have one page summaries for donors/funders/corporate contacts, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,465 , allowing us to build strategic alignment with our Advisory Board, save nearly a month's worth of part-time staff salary and provide clear guidelines on what work is in scope during through this period of growth.

We are at a cross-roads. Our nonprofit supports first generation low income college students transition through college to career and achieve their academic and career aspirations through empowering mentorship, professional development, and leadership opportunities. After 4 years of being an all-volunteer organization, we are investing in part-time staff to help us diversify our revenue sources, broaden our reach and develop a model for sustainability. We have one year to test this new model.

Our mission

The Collective Success Network (CSN) was founded in 2017 is to support, mentor, and empower low income first generation (LIFG) college students to achieve their career aspirations.

With minimal resources, and no one in their family or community who successfully navigated college to guide them, these students embark on a difficult journey from university into the professional world alone. CSN helps LIFG students bridge into the professional world by building social capital through mentorship, professional development programing, and leadership development.

Testimonials

Several of our Advisory Board members had never met before in person and, after a year of Zoom meetings, we wanted our first in-person strategy session to be engaging, enjoyable and productive. Our agenda was packed into a half day, requiring very precise setting of objectives and ground rules for the participants. Dr. Nader provided excellent advice and gentle guidance prior to the meeting, and he expertly facilitated what ended up being a highly engaging event that led to our most critically important decisions. Dr. Nader set the tone at the start of the meeting, emphasizing a need for brevity, agreement and enthusiasm, which encouraged everyone's participation without derailing our goals. It was a pleasure working with Dr. Nader and we are so grateful for his help.
