New Employee Onboarding
New Employee Onboarding
Project details
What we need
- A written document that identifies the Organization's timeline, onboarding goals, recommended responsibilities and support for new hire success:
- An onboarding checklist and timeline template that can be completed by the Organization for each new hire
- A suggested checklist and template outlining onboarding methods the Organization should pursue to meet its goals (human resources and information technology materials, department presentations, mentor assignment, skill sharing, etc.)
- Recommendations on how to delegate onboarding responsibilities within the Organization or department, if applicable
- A short plan for communicating with the new hire prior to their first day of work
Additional details
Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity ReStore is looking to formalize our on-boarding documents into a streamlined process for all new hires at the associate and driver level. We have multiple documents that have been assembled over time and need to combine then into one formatted template to use going forward. This project requires combining and formatting more documents than actual creation of documents while working with the ReStore Director and Store Manager to meet the organization goal.
What we have in place
- We currently have documented processes and procedures, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have dedicated staff to see this project through, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $8,686 , allowing us to focus our limited staff hours on providing hands on training for staff and volunteers rather than behind a computer.
Milwaukee ReStore has grown faster than expected and we want to ensure that new staff start out with the correct training for a successful on-boarding. We have had several attempts at building a complete on-boarding guide and have multiple documents, policies and procedures in different places. We know the importance of the starting off the employees on the right foot the first time and are seeking the right individual to get this project to the finish line.
