We've recently had two team members start managing projects, and another has resumed managing them after a while away, and that transition has shown us that we need more documentation about our process and resources that our team can refer to. For a long time, we've been "winging it", which worked okay when one person managed all of our projects, but that's been more challenging now that more people are involved in project management.

We're a small team that wears a lot of hats, and needs to work very flexibly, so rigid, highly-documented systems haven't really worked out for us in the past. Our current project management practices involve a mix of top-down/waterfall-style project management when we need a team member to be deeply engaged in one project for a long time, and bottom-up/agile style project management when we have shorter, discrete tasks to be completed.

We're looking to strike a happy medium between maintaining the flexibility that we need to have as a small, community-serving organization and having enough of a process and resources documented so that we can equip our project leads for success.
