Storytelling
Storytelling
Project details
What we need
- A compelling narrative, or set of stories
- Persuasive copy that can be used in appeals to donors, annual reports, grant applications, and media relations
- Popular examples: Organization's founding story, a program achievement or milestone, a look back at the past few years, organizational backgrounder, etc.
- Note: This project is not intended to support your general content planning or marketing but there are several projects in our Marketing & Communications category which are a good fit!
Additional details
Our purposes are community disaster assistance and disaster preparedness. During disasters we convene nonprofit relief organizations into a coordinated response group. We need help explaining our purpose to get people to really envision the value and engage more organizations to want to be part of the planning process (public, private, nonprofit). It would be wonderful to have someone ask us the questions we need to answer to be able to communicate effectively.
What we have in place
- Our website www.cadresv.org (currently being redeveloped), newsletters and webinars are how we do outreach but we could do a much better job of reminding everyone about why we exist. We can also convene the Board of Directors to provide feedback.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to update our website and print a brochure with our message.
Pre-disaster, we need to have more dialogue, with a more diverse group of organizations, to plan for disasters and how we can support the community. This next year is a great opportunity for us to strengthen relationships.
Project plan
Our mission
The mission of CADRE is to strengthen coordination of the disaster response and recovery efforts of non-profit, faith-based, government, private and other disaster relief entities in Santa Clara County, through partnerships, planning, training, exercises and emergency activation.
What we do
We provide free disaster resilience workshops and form pre-disaster collaborations. During disasters, we monitor the nonprofit disaster response to ensure we're maximizing the use of scarce resources. We work as a bridge between nonprofits and local government. We ensure that the nonprofit messages of inclusion are not ignored.
