Project details

What we need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional details

Working on a refresh, update, and expansion of a never published Employee Handbook.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a strong draft that needs audit, insight, and critique, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have experience, but not bandwidth, in writing SOPs, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to focus on the personal interaction and mentorship with employees.

The organization is in a rapid period of growth and needs to define systems for employees to thrive in. It is a desire from not only the management team, but a necessary (and requested) framework to engage employees and lead to the development of KPI's.

Our mission

Retreat Farm is building healthy lives, families, and community by connecting people to the land and to one another. Adjoining downtown Brattleboro, Retreat Farm encompasses over 600 acres of conserved forests, farmlands, trails, and waterways on ancestral Abenaki lands.

What we do

The original Retreat Farm was established in 1837 to provide food, fuel, and occupational therapy to the patients and staff of the Brattleboro Retreat psychiatric hospital. Retreat Farm, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was formed in 2015 to restore the forests, soils, waters and stunning historic barns as a vital community asset. Today, this historic property is providing opportunities for people from all walks of life to access fresh food, connect to nature, and find community. Retreat Farm has quickly become a principal land-based anchor institution that contributes to the vibrancy of the region and brings people together to create common bonds.
