We need a fresh look at our mission, vision and values to see if they are still applicable to our programs and if they are clear enough for the community to understand.
What we have in place
- We currently have a mission, vision and values statement, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have the commitment, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $13,348 , allowing us to utilize our limited funds for general operating cost.
We are wanting to do more outreach and want to know that we have a clear mission, etc.

Our mission
Heart of Courage empowers mothers with children in foster care to unite their families and create a better future for both mother and child. Heart of Courage helps women develop a healthy and positive perspective. We focus on strengthening: Attitudes -To inspire pro-social friendships and strong interpersonal skills, and to instill a sense of hope in the future. Goals - To empower self-sufficiency establishing goals and following through on commitments. Expectations - To expand the perspective of our clients and make them aware of life's possibilities.

It was a blessing to meet Dania and to learn about all the work Heart of Courage is doing to provide support and advocacy services to mothers with children in the Texas foster care system. I am inspired by Dania’s commitment to the clients she serves and by her passion that enabled her to recruit a diverse board of directors and complete all the startup work involved in launching Heart of Courage. What sticks with me is her words, “We just never know the full story.” Heart of Courage listens to those stories and helps each mother craft a plan to rebuild their lives and reunite with their children. I hope more volunteers on Catchafire get a chance to support the work at Heart of Courage!
